Pinja

I was preparing for the highest level of the YKI test (C1) and Pinja guided me through this process beautifully. She is very friendly and encouraging and tries to boost your confidence at all times (sometimes I suspected she might be praising my performance a little too much but that might also by my imposter syndrome speaking :-D). She is very flexible and if you know what you want and where you want to go with your language learning journey, she will do her best to get you there with different exercises. We discussed all kinds of serious issues of our times such as politics and climate change (all in the target language Finnish, of course!) but we also laughed a lot, and I truly had an amazing time. Thank you, Pinja! Kiitoksia paljon!

It´s been three lessons with Pinja and I´ve enjoyed them so much! Her teaching approach is very effective, and I can already feel my confidence in Finnish growing. She creates a comfortable learning environment. I highly recommend her!

Had another amazing lesson with Pinja. We reviewed some alternating KPT stems for verbs and read through some passages before moving onto cases. Pinja is a really flexible teacher and is always happy to explain concepts which have indirectly cropped up. I would really recommend Pinja as a teacher for anyone beginning their journey in Finnish.

Pinja is so supportive! Thanks to our lessons and her supportive attitude, I have significantly improved my conversational skills in Finnish. The change is really noticeable - before I couldn’t say a word in Finnish even though I knew some grammar and vocabulary, but now I can already handle different types of conversations! And now it feels great and fun to learn Finnish as never before because I can engage more in longer conversations with native speakers. Thank you, Pinja!

Pinja is a brilliant teacher and is able to cater to her students' needs individually. She knows and understands the kind of things that I am interested in understanding when learning Finnish and explains things which may not naturally follow the syllabus of the topic we are covering because she understands that I need that additional context. I highly recommend Pinja for learning Finnish. Looking forward to our next lesson.

Pinja is a brilliant teacher in explaining concepts of grammar, and always happy to adjust her lesson plans in response to questions which I have in relation to grammatical concepts, as I find that I learn a language better by learning the grammatical concepts and then applying them to vocabular, especially for languages which require conjugation. Would definitely highly recommend Pinja if you're looking to learn Finnish.
