I have an MA degree in Applied linguistics - English and Japanese and I have been a teacher for more than 19 years teaching English, Japanese and my native languages - Bulgarian and Russian. I have also specialised in the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies.

My name is Olga or Helga and I am here to teach Bulgarian, Dutch, Swedish and Norwegian. I am open-minded, creative and communicative. These skills help me teaching in an amusing and interesting manner.

I find learning languages quite fun and if you share any of my passions, then we can make the learning process equally fun for both of us. Just like how eyes are the window to the soul; language is the window to the soul of a nation. Más de 17 años de experiencia I never thought that teaching could be the right job for me, but - here I am - seventeen years and around a thousand of students later. At some point, I realised that teaching had become a passion. My professional experience before italki was focused mainly on exam preparation both in English (e.g. Cambridge, Trinity) and German (Goethe Institut, telc) and included - apart from the usual group and individual, intensive and regular courses - level-testing and organising mock exams. For several years, I also worked as an English examiner and corrector at one of the universities in Spain. I hold a C2 Certificate in Spanish (DELE).

Professional polyglot teacher with more than 10 years experience I really love sharing my passion for languages and I enjoy the most seeing how my students progress in their language studies. I speak slowly - as much as it can be a drawback in life, it is an asset in teaching, because this helps the student processing the language easier, at their own pace. Medical student with a passion for self-learning languages! My hope as a teacher is to fulfill the goals that students set for themselves at the start of their language learning. Maybe they want basic conversational skills, maybe they want fluency. I just give them the instruments to get there.

As a PhD student in Bulgarian literature, I am interested in Bulgarian literature and cinema from the period of Socialism (1944-1989) and I believe that these topics would help my students not only in learning the language itself, but also in getting to know Bulgaria, its history and culture. I am patient and consistent in my work so it would be a pleasure to teach Bulgarian language even to complete beginners.

I am a professional and an experienced teacher of all South Slavic languages. I am an experienced instructor and native speaker of Macedonian, Croatian and Serbian. I have many years of experience in teaching. In my classes, I exclusively use materials in Macedonian, Serbian, Croatian and Bulgarian, as well as own personal materials. It is also worth mentioning that I am a strong supporter of the modern communicative approach.

I am constantly exploring and looking for the best teaching methods. I think that the most valuable part of my lessons is the individual approach. Growing up I always had to translate a lot because I spoke 3 languages. I also have been teaching some of the languages to friends, and took foreign language classes as well in order to learn how to teach. Also being part of a french-japanese association, I met a lot of language learners, and being born trilingual I can see notice some things that monolingual natives may not notice. I am now a student in a language university in Japan and also studied one year in a French university in order to learn more about languages.

My friends' parents would have their kids practice English with me and once I went to university, I started teaching Italian and Bulgarian privately.
