5 de mayo It's interesting the phenomenon of 5 de Mayo in the USA. First of all let me tell you that this date it is not Mexico's Independence Day, that would be 16 September. History is simple, Mexican army defeated French army in an episode named "La Batalla de Puebla" , in the Second Intervention of the French Government against Mexico. In Mexico this date is only for commemoration but it is not a day of pared es or Mexican parties.
