In my standard trial lesson, I invite you to discuss your learning progress so far and what has worked well and not so well for you. I ask questions about how precisely you'll be using English in your life, how you enjoy learning and what your challenges are. I give you a summary of what I think could be useful for you to work on, depending on your circumstances, and I describe examples to you of the different strategies I use to help other students to achieve similar goals to yours. At the end of the day, it all comes down to setting a realistic goal or goals which can be achieved while enjoying the learning process, engaging with topics of interest and relevance to you, and I'm here to help you with all of that. By the end of the session, you will have an outline of how I would teach you, what we would discuss, and one or two specific goals that we would be looking to achieve and when. After that, it's up to you to decide if you would like to go ahead or not. I look forward to meeting you!

In this lesson, we examine and read together an article which is of interest and relevance to you. I normally choose an article which is appropriate to your level but you may request a particular article if you wish. After this, we will use this to focus on a particular area of your improvement, whether that be fluency by using the article as a discussion topic, or expansion of your advanced vocabulary, pronunciation or a mixture of all. The point is to create a holistic, authentic learning experience based on native content to take you to where you want to be.

Article-based topic of interest lesson

In this lesson, we focus on a particular grammar or pronunciation point or set of related points and explore them in different and interesting ways! I will present examples to you of exactly how to use them and exactly how not to use them and then show you texts with them in context. You'll then be challenged to create as many ridiculous and interesting examples of your own as you can! I'll give you a number of scenarios where you can put them into context and your homework will be to make at least 5 of your own every day before the next class, as well as to have a go at transforming the way an article is written, or using your new pronunciation, using your new knowledge. This lesson format works best with at least 5 lessons and with grammar points which are at the level just above yours, whether that be one of the English tenses, prepositions, or complex sentence structures.

For this lesson, we will agree on a topic beforehand and which stance we will each represent. During the class, it can be as high or low pressure as you like and I will be delighted to explore your worldview and challenge your ideas! It's advisable for us to do at least a little reading on different viewpoints before the class so we can make sure to hold our own during the debate. 

A debate length will be agreed and during or after the debate, I will help you to learn new vocabulary to express your ideas more precisely and convincingly. We will set tarrgets for how much you would like to learn for each debate and may repeat debates to see how they can go even better a second or third time after you have made progress.

Améliore ton français

Si tu es intéressé ou fasciné par la langue classique, l'histoire, la philosophie et l'occultisme, ce cours serait bon pour toi en combinant tout cela. C'est simplement organisé. On prend et analyse un fragment des livres écrits au siècle des lumières ou à l'époche plus moderne sur par exemple la philosophie ésotérique, et on en discute après. 
Le but de ce cours est d'approfondir tes connaissances linguistiques, et à la fois de te familiariser des notions et termes dans le champ de la philosophie et l'histoire ésotérisque en France entre le 17e et le 19e siècle.

Lecture des œuvres philosophiques

Dieser Kurs ist für Leute gedacht, die ihre Deutschkenntnisse verfeinern und gleichzeitig ihr Wissen in der klassischen deutschen Philosophie erweitern möchten.

Ich werde hauptsächlich Fragmente aus den Werken des deutschen Idealismus bereitstellen (die Werke von Nietzsche, Freud usw. können auch einbezogen werden) und wir können versuchen, den Text gemeinsam zu entschlüsseln und uns dann zu unterhalten.
