The grammar topic of every language that students hate probably concerns the hypothetical periods, in particular those that are related to probability and impossibility. To celebrate Pokémon Day again, I'll try to post here some theme sentences using hypothetical periods. 1) If TCG players want extra service, they must pay a special subscription. 2) In case I play too much, I'll stop immediately. 3) If I had a time-travel machine, I would avoid wasting my salary on buying too many Pokémon cards. 4) If I had brought a bigger luggage, I would have probably bought more Pokémon souvenirs in Japan. 5) If I hadn't visited Shibuya, I wouldn't have a pleasant memory of Mewtwo at the Pokémon Center entrance. 6) If the TCG app wasn't free, I wouldn't have downloaded it on my smartphone.

It was sunny today. Mom made our favorite dish—beef stew—for dinner tonight. It included beef offal, cartilage, tomato sauce, peanut sauce, and a bunch of herbs… Everyone loved it. Dad even saved some for later. He’s really gotten his appetite back. And the best part of all, MeeMaw ate quite a lot, too. I could tell she was looking forward to it because she urged me to hurry home after gym. Mom really did well with that perfect stew.

MY FAVOURITE FLAG My favourite flag, apart from the Italian one of course, is the Brazilian one because of its colour. There is a little yellow on it and yellow is my favourite colour. Also, yellow, green and blue match very nicely in my opinion. Shape-wise I really like the Nepalese flag. Its particular shape makes it recognizable among all the other flags in the world. I don't know the meaning that lies behind these 2 flags. If you do, feel free to share it with me! Thanks!

THE ITALIAN FLAG The Italian flag is a vertically striped flag. Each stripe has a different colour. From left to right: the first band is green, which represents the Mediterranean scrub, typical of our landscape; the middle band is white, which represents the white snow of the Alps - one of the most important Italian mountain chains; the last band is red, a colour that symbolises the blood given by all those people who have fought for the unification of Italy.

My elder female cousin used to be my idol. She is 5 years older than me, she seems didn't study hard, but she could get a top score among students. She used to be very introverted and nervous, but she jumped out her comfort zone becoming the monitor and made a lot of friends. As her little sister, she was like always ahead of me and led me. I dreamed to be an excellent student just like her. Nowadays, it's hard for me to name an idol any more, because I value my own thoughts so much and I rely on myself. Having an idol or not, I still know well about myself: which I can do or which I can't. I would say the impact of having an idol is decreased for me as I have become an adult so many years. I don't have an idol in life now, but there are many people I show my respect and look to them. I think people is not perfect, but there is always some aspects I can refer to as a role model.

Throughtout our long life time, we always focus on earning money and easily ignore our health. We always think that we are too young to do everything well without much sleep. Until we don't feel well and are told that we have a lot of terrible health problems. We suddenly realize that keep healthy is the most important thing throughtout our life. There is a joke say that the worest thing during our life is that we have enough money, but we died. However, let everyone understands the importance of keeping healthy is really hard. This reminds me of another Chinese saying: you can't stop a man who is going to bump into a wall. Maybe the man knows what he is doing, but he pretends not to be seeing other problems.So, listening to the people who ingored their health when they were young is the best thing to improve pur health. Only we are afraid of ding something, we won't do it!

Because of being busy, I have tried to cut down on my habit of walking around and that is a mistake. Since I spend all day mainly for studying and teaching, my brain doesn't work well and sometimes I forget the knowledge while teaching. Today, an aquaitance reminded me how going out and walking around helps, I decided to come back to my habit intead of saving 1 hour for just working. I hope this helps.
