Dollarizing a country, for those that don’t know, represents changing the actual currency to the dollar in order to increase the trade between countries and grow the economy. Might not be a really important topic in the Occident, but this is one of the issues that affect us indirectly in terms of economy. As we all know, Javier Milei won the Argentinian elections the past month, the other day I was wondering if it is possible to dollarize Argentina and I haven’t already arrived to a conclusion. On the one hand, we have the fact that every single country has a history and a past, which means that changing whatever, from the flag to the currency, isn’t easy. While this is true, when it comes to the economy it is also true that the peso is not in good shape, in fact, Argentina is living a really high inflation rate. In Europe, we barely know what it is inflation at all because since the end of WW2 we haven’t had an inflation rate that has worried anybody. Other countries, such as Panama or Zimbabwe, had adopted the dollar as an official currency in the past. Furthermore, countries like Hungary or Ecuador as well, they all had an extreme inflation solved it by changing the currency to another stronger, even if the currency didn’t belong to the culture, history and identity of the country. From my point of view, the best thing Argentina can do is make the dollarization right now because the peso is a very unstable currency and the dollar might be better. At the end of the day, money is only a way to exchange goods and set a value to things.

Nowadays, it is common that females keep their full-time jobs while running a family with their partners. Consequently, many people convince that both man and woman should share housework tasks equally during their marriage, and I wholeheartedly agree with this. Despite there are regulations from companies that offer special caring toward female employees, they are not fully covered in and implemented by most companies, especially in developing countries. For instance, woman can be granted maternity leaves and parental leaves, however, these leaves are still not enough. As long as there is a family needed to run, and children to bring up, certain amount of housework is inevitable for family members to complete. In this case, anyone in a family should bear the responsibility of taking care the housework, and an ideal solution to this is sharing housework loads in a detailed way. For one hand, couples in healthy relationship would help each other, chores from daily life in a family are reasonable to be taken from any of them, which I think is not about the gender issue. For the other hand, it is unfair for females to cover all housework when the fact is they keep their full-time job like their partners. The result to this constant unfair reality on women often lead to a unhealthy marriage easily, and is bad for social stability as well. I went shopping with my parents today. We ate gyoza, which is famous food in Tochigi. I had a delicious food and enjoyed shopping, so I had a really good time.

It's a beautiful sunny day. In the morning, we took my great-grandma to the Lunar New Year Fair. Usually, it's all about chrysanthemums and citrus, but today, it was more diverse. Surprisingly, it was less crowded than I expected. We even managed to park our car nearby, which seemed impossible at first. My great-grandma has a green thumb, so this suited her perfectly. Like a child, she wandered around, observing this and that, fiddling with different things. Despite "no touching" signs being everywhere, I guess the sellers didn't mind this old lady exploring. We spent hours there, and it seemed like the happiest day for her.

As I mentioned before, I has focused on the trend of the next generation vehicle electric cars[EV] and fuel-cell electric cars[FCV] recently. EVs have been attracting a lot of attentions so far, but I came across an article about the insurance for EVs the other day. The article said the insurance for EVs has gone up by 70% over the past one year in England. On the other hand, conventional cars such as gasoline and diesel ones went up to about 30%. It reported that EVs accounts for almost 20% of new cars sales in the UK and they are spreading among people. Car related nonprofit organization, the Thatcham Research states there are several reasons for this. 1)The EVs insurance cost asked for is 25% higher than conventional engine cars' one when an accident happens. 2)It takes 14% longer to fix EVs than to fix conventional cars 3)It costs higher to store damaged EVs safely 4)The price of batteries for replacement is way too high than EV's market price after one year There is a strong likelihood that high insurance cost for EVs is caused by them above. To overcome those issues, car makers needs to design EVs immediately to repair them easier and to secure supply ability of parts. This is unfortunate, but I look forward to affordable EVs with low insurance cost in the future.
