This course is designed to help learners build a foundation in Chinese language and acquire simple communication skills for daily life.

I can complete basic social communication tasks using words and phrases I've learned or heard before. I can respond to direct questions using standard answers that I've practiced. I will pause while speaking to search for the right words or grammar. I can reuse words and phrases from my own speech or from what others have said to keep the conversation going. I can use vocabulary, sentence structure, and speech patterns that I've heard from other speakers.
