Egy tavaszi reggelen nagyon korán felébredtem.
A szobában még félhomály volt, és kint is alig kezdett világosodni.
A levegő hűvös volt, olyan igazi tavaszi reggel.
Egy ideig csak feküdtem az ágyban, és hallgattam a csendet.
Aztán egyszer csak megszólalt egy madár a kertben.
A fekete rigó volt.
Először csak néhány hangot énekelt.
Aztán egyre bátrabban, egyre hangosabban kezdett csicsergni.
Felkeltem, és odamentem az ablakhoz.
Óvatosan kinyitottam, hogy jobban halljam.
A kert egyik fáján ült a rigó.
Teljes nyugalomban énekelt, mintha az egész kert az övé lenne.
Ahogy hallgattam, eszembe jutott egy régi gyerekmondóka:
„Répa, retek, mogyoró,
korán reggel ritkán rikkant a rigó.”
Gyerekkoromban sokszor mondtuk ezt.
De most, ott állva az ablaknál, csak mosolyogtam rajta.
Mert a rigó éppen akkor énekelt a leghangosabban.
Arra gondoltam, hogy talán ez a rigó egyszerűen nem ismeri ezt a mondókát.
Talán ha tudná, mit mondanak róla az emberek, meglepődne.
Talán azt mondaná:
„Hogyhogy ritkán rikkantok reggel?
Hiszen ez a legjobb idő énekelni!”
El is képzeltem, hogy a rigó egy kicsit megsértődik.
Felfújja a tollait, és azt mondja:
„Na majd én megmutatom!”
És még hangosabban kezd énekelni.
A rigó közben tovább ugrált az ágon.
Néha megállt, körülnézett, aztán újra énekelt.
A kert lassan világosodni kezdett.
A nap első fényei megjelentek a házak fölött.
A rigó hangja pedig betöltötte a reggelt.
Mintha ő ébresztené fel a világot.
Néhány percig csak álltam az ablaknál, és hallgattam.
Aztán a rigó hirtelen felrepült a fáról,
és átszállt a kert másik végébe.
Még egy rövid dalt elénekelt,
aztán eltűnt a háztetők mögött.
A kert újra csendes lett.
De a reggel már egészen más volt.
Arra gondoltam, hogy talán a mondóka téved.
Vagy talán csak vicc.
Mert a rigó bizony nagyon is szeret korán reggel rikkantani.
És én ennek mindig örülök.
Mert amikor meghallom a rigó énekét,
mindig tudom, hogy egy új, szép nap kezdődik.
