Être accro, qu’est-ce que ça veut dire ?
« Être accro » vient du mot accroché. On imagine quelqu’un qui ne peut plus se détacher d’une chose, comme s’il était collé, piégé, suspendu. En langage familier, cela veut dire être dépendant de quelque chose.

Exemple concret :

Je suis accro au chocolat. → Cela veut dire que tu ne peux pas t’en passer, tu en as envie tout le temps.

Il est accro à son téléphone. → Il passe ses journées dessus, comme si c’était vital.

Elle est accro aux séries. → Dès qu’elle commence une saison, impossible de décrocher.

Mais attention, « être accro » ne s’utilise pas seulement pour des objets ou des habitudes. On peut aussi être accro à une personne.

Il est complètement accro à son copain. → Il ne pense qu’à lui.

Il y a une nuance intéressante : « être accro » peut être positif ou négatif.

Positif : Je suis accro au sport, ça me fait du bien.

Négatif : Je suis accro aux jeux vidéo, ça prend tout mon temps.

Dans le langage courant, on trouve aussi des variantes :

Un accro → un nom qui désigne une personne dépendante. Exemple : C’est un accro du café.

Accrocher → verbe plus neutre, mais parfois utilisé dans l’idée de séduire ou captiver. Exemple : Ce film m’a vraiment accroché.

Alors la prochaine fois que tu sens que tu ne peux pas te passer d’une chose… demande-toi : « Est-ce que je suis juste passionné, ou est-ce que je suis carrément accro ? »

Indeed, bare (meaning naked or basic) and bear (the animal) are pronounced the same. In this episode, I am going to guide you through (not throw) the E ear and A air sounds.
