こんにちは～！マルハバ！サウジの日本語の先生、佳子です＾＾
みなさんー！お久しぶりでーす。元気ですかー？私は元気ですよー！最近、サウジの夏のピークが過ぎて、若干暑さが和らいできましたね。といっても、昼間の最高気温は40度近くあるので、昼間の外出はまだまだ大変ですけどね。1か月後くらいから、日中ビーチに行ったり、夕方公園で遊べそうです。あー、早く冬来てほしい！！
てなわけで、今回から少しだけカジュアルな感じで進めてみたいと思っています！
今日のテーマは「WhatsAppでの連絡」です。この間、サウジの生徒さんとスマホの話から「そういえば、サウジではドライバーからWhatsAppで連絡が来るよね」という話になったんですよー。この「配達ドライバーからWhatsAppで連絡が来る」というのは、私的にはカルチャーショックでした。日本では基本的に、オンラインショッピングするとき、配達時間が選べて、ほとんどの場合、ドライバーから連絡が来ることはありません。連絡が来るとしたら、普通の電話です。でも、サウジの場合、注文時に配達時間を選べないことが多いですよね～。だから、配達日にドライバーからWhatsAppで「今日配達しますが、〇〇時はどうですか？」または「近くにいるので、今から配達してもいいですか？」みたいなメッセージが入ります。サウジの家はちょっと探しにくいので、Google mapや家の外観を送ったりもします。忙しいときは電話に出れないので、メッセージでのやりとりは便利ですね。家が見つからなかったり、家に着いたときは電話がかかってきます。昼間寝ている人が多いからか、基本的にインターホンは鳴らしません。サウジでは、女性が注文者の場合は、男性の家族かメイドが受け取ることが多いです。
配達ドライバーとの連絡だけではなく、いろんなビジネスでWhatsAppが使われているんです。例えば幼稚園や学校、習い事。私の場合、英語で電話するのが得意ではないので、息子の学校や習い事探しの時にメッセージでいろいろ質問できてとても便利でした。
みなさんは、こういうメッセージアプリでの連絡はどう思いますか？
