Omschrijving
In your variety a tag question is a small grammar machine. "You are coming, aren't you?" "He has finished, hasn't he?" "They won't mind, will they?" The tag copies the verb, flips the polarity and matches the subject. Indian English does something simpler and, once you know it, far easier to follow: it uses one fixed tag for almost everything. What you will learn: • The four invariant tags • Why the tag is invariant • The two tunes: seeking agreement and checking • Tags after commands, suggestions and negatives • How to answer • Scenes: office, shop, phone, home • Practice: decode the scene • Listening strategies • Self-check questions to test your ear Level: B1–B2. Self-study: listen, then take the quizzes. Audio voiced with AI from an original script by Dr. Rashmi R Nair.
