4.我家离公司很远，所以要坐公共汽车去公司。

6. 男：大卫回来了吗？ 
女：没有，他还在教室学习呢。
7. 男：你家离学校远吗？ 
女：很远，坐公共汽车要一个多小时呢。
8. 男：今天晚上一起吃饭吧。给你过生日。 
女：好吧，七点半怎么样？
9. 女：在床上看书对眼睛不好。
男：知道了，再看一会儿就睡觉。

こんばんは！Atsushiです。
このPodcastをはじめの方から聞いてくれている人は知っているかもしれませんが、僕は妻と今年の6月に岡山から北海道へ引っ越してきました。

ですので、北海道の冬は今年がはじめてです。
どれぐらい雪が降るのかわからない不安もありますが、岡山や大阪で雪が降ることはほとんどないので、楽しみでもあります。

そして、とうとう雪が降りました。
今年の冬にちゃんと降ったのははじめてでした。
昼から夜にかけて、降っていました。
気温が低い雪はサラサラしているので、いいですね。
積もると大変だと思いますが。


ぼくの個人的な雪の経験は、鳥取に住んでいた時のことです。たくさん降った経験があるわけではないですが、降る時はどかっと降るので、その時は大変でした。

雪が積もっている時に、クルマを出すのはめっちゃ大変なんです。まず、雪かきをしてからじゃないと出せないんですね。ですので、いつもより早めに家を出て、車のエンジンをかけて、雪かきをしますね。雪かきをしている間に車の中があたたまり、フロントガラスの氷がとけていきます。そして、やっと車を出せるようになります。

雪の積もり方によりますが、多いと30分とかかかってました。寒い中雪をかいていくので、結構大変ですね。

北海道と同じような緯度の国や地域は同じようなことがあるかもしれないですね。

ヨーロッパの国々や中国やアメリカの北部、韓国、ロシア、カナダなどなど。

もしかしたらニュージーランドの冬も同じようになるんですかね。どうなんでしょう。

ということで、今回は雪が降りました！という話から、僕の以前の雪かきの経験の話をしました。

雪かきなど毎年してるよ！という方、いや、雪は見たことがない！という方もよければオンラインレッスンでお話しましょう！ということで、今回は以上です。

How to survive / face exam season as a student

Merryl goes to the mechanic to get his car fixed, and he can't remember what the different car parts are called. The mechanic helps him out.

Car Vocabulary: 
Windshield- the glass at the front of the car
Windshield wipers- rubber pieces that move back and forth to remove water or snow off the windshield
Fluid: a liquid
Coolant: a fluid that cools something down, used in cars
Oil change: removing old oil and putting clean oil in a car
Rearview mirror: a mirror in the back of a car, shows the area behind car
Trunk lid: The trunk is the storage area at the back of the car. The lid is the cover.
Headlight: the light at the front of the car
Blinkers: lights that flash on and off as a signal to let others know when your car will make a turn

Car Vocabulary

El Parque España es una de las áreas verdes que dan vida a la colonia Condesa. Los vecinos acostumbran correr, sacar a pasear a las mascotas, sentarse a tomar un helado, ver los atardeceres o leer el periódico. El parque fue la entrada al desaparecido Hipódromo de la Condesa, ya que ahí se encontraba la Hacienda de la Condesa, una próspera propiedad de la Condesa de Miravalle donde se criaban ovejas, se sembraba maíz y se cultivaban magueyes. Fue diseñado por el arquitecto José Luis Cuevas e inaugurado el 21 de septiembre de 1921 por el presidente municipal Herminio Pérez Abreu quien sembró un ahuehuete como parte de la ceremonia. En torno a este lugar han florecido restaurantes y cafés, enriqueciendo el sentido de comunidad de la colonia reconocida como un buen punto para pasear perros. Es usual ver niños llenando y alegrando el parque, mientras disfrutan las carreras y los juegos por todo el lugar.

Dentro de este espacio hay un monumento al Presidente Lázaro Cárdenas que fue donado en 1974 por un grupo de españoles republicanos refugiados en el país.  El monumento es una representación abstracta de una mano abierta simbolizando la bienvenida de México a los refugiados españoles de la guerra civil.

El Parque España está rodeado  por muchos edificios con gran variedad arquitectónica donde abunda el estilo avant-garde, aunque la colonia es muy conocida por sus edificios art decó y art nouveau. Frente a él, en la calle Guadalajara, se encuentra la casa que fue de Fernando Torreblanca  quien prestó sus servicios a muchos presidentes en la década de los años veinte. El hermoso inmueble fue diseñado por el ingeniero Manuel Luis Stampa y construid0 en 1922.

Dentro del parque se puede disfrutar también la Biblioteca Carlos Fuentes y admirar el  pequeño lago con algunos patos y un hermoso ahuehuete con un estilo parecido al que está en el cercano Parque México.
