Often, it’s because they recognize it’s good for personal development or career prospects, or sometimes they simply have extra time on their hands. In other words, they have nothing better to do. It is alright not to have a clear goal on learning a language. It is a known fact some people go about their lives questioning the very meaning of life itself too. The focus of this episode is to add enjoyment to your language learning because when one does not have a real purpose, staying motivated enough to keep on track then becomes a big challenge. 今日は、年齢に関する言葉のお話をしたいと思います。

皆さんは、アラサー　という　言葉を聞いたことがありますか。

アラサーとは、アラウンドサーティの略で、30歳前後の人を指す和製英語です。
２７歳から３２歳の年齢を指すことが多いです。
英語では、around the age of 30”ですね。

では、４０歳前後の人は、何と呼ぶと思いますか？
正解は、「アラフォー」です。Around the age og 40 ですね。
５０歳前後の人は、「アラフィフ」、６０歳前後の人は「アラ還（かん）」　と呼ばれています。
６０歳は　日本で　還暦（かんれき）　と呼ばれているからです。

Around40 〜注文の多いオンナたち〜という　ドラマが流行し、「アラフォー」という言葉が生まれました。
このドラマは、40歳を間近に控えた主人公のお医者さんが仕事、恋愛、結婚などに悩む姿を描いた作品です。

そして、「アラフォー」という言葉は２００８年の流行語大賞にも選ばれました。
流行語大賞は、日本で一年間に話題となった新しい言葉や流行語を選び、その言葉に関わった人を表彰する賞のことです。

みなさんの国にも、アラサー、アラフォーなどと同じ意味の言葉がありますか？

Attainable: I will start by summarizing after one agenda item per meeting, then gradually increase to all items over a month.

Time-bound: I will implement this for the next 3 months and evaluate progress then.
2. Enhance communication with family:

Specific: I will practice active listening with my partner by reflecting back their emotions and using open-ended questions during evening conversations.
Measurable: My partner will provide feedback on whether they feel heard and understood by my responses.
Attainable: I will focus on actively listening during one conversation per evening for the next two weeks.
Relevant: Improved communication will strengthen my relationship with my partner.
Time-bound: I will practice this for two weeks and then discuss adjustments with my partner.
