When speaking, don't use the pronoun 'I'.
(I think... I suggest... I propose...)

Instead, use 'you'.
(You can... You need to... You should...)
This makes your audience feel the focus is on them, and then they will want to listen to what you have to say.

Even better, to fully integrate yourself into a global team, use 'we'.
(We have to... We could... We will be able to....)
This shows you are all working towards the same goal and helps people accept you into their circle.

Short sentences ➕ your feelings=you can speak a lot of Japanese.

第21話　夏にお中元をどうぞ。

When we talk about Lionel Messi, it's easy to talk about numbers. He has been named the best men's player in the world eight times. He has won one World Cup, four European Champions League trophies and an Olympic gold medal.

He has scored more than 800 goals for his clubs and his country.

But these numbers only tell some of the story. It's also his balance, the way he moves his feet, slides the ball through another player's legs and finds space on the field.

Soccer is often called "the beautiful game," and for many people, no one has ever played it quite as beautifully as Messi.

His story began in Rosario, Argentina, where he was born in 1987. There, when he was a child, he played for a club called Newell's Old Boys.

Clubs around the world soon heard about the young star in South America, and aged 13 he moved with his family to Spain, where he joined FC Barcelona's junior team.

By the age of 16, he was already playing for the club's adult team. Goals, then trophies, came quickly, and he never looked back.

He was soon a global star, and one of the world's highest paid sportspeople.

Messi left Barcelona in 2021, having scored more goals for the club than anyone else. He joined Paris Saint-Germain, and then, two years later, Inter Miami in the US.

In 2022, he was Argentina's captain and the star player in his country's World Cup win. Messi, at just 170 centimeters tall, had become a giant of the sport.

Episode 13 (R.I.P phone) Filming in Israel
Welcome back to Streetwise English Podcast. I'm your host, Carl. Since we're on the topic of cell phones, I want to tell you another story about my favorite cell phone in the world, which is a Sony cell phone from Japan. Was a Sony cell phone from Japan. And I was taking a video of a tourist group in Tel Aviv, Israel.


So I'm an American guy, and I was with a group of Chinese tourists and I was hired to film these tourists on their trip in Israel.


It was our first day at the beach. I think it might have been our very first day in Israel. I think we arrived early in the morning at the airport. So I filmed people picking up their luggage and then we were cruising around at the beach, maybe we visited a store. I think there was a guy who played a trumpet that was kind of like made out of a bullhorn or something, a traditional horn, an old man with a beard and a, um, a hat, like the traditional Jewish people wear there in Tel Aviv.


And anyways, we were down at the beach, and this was the first time I'd seen the beach in Tel Aviv. And let me tell you, it looked like Santa Monica, California. There were people roller skating. There were people , girls in bikinis. There were surfers out in the water. People surfing in Tel Aviv. I had no idea. This is not the picture I had in my mind when thinking of Israel or Tel Aviv.


So my cell phone that I mentioned earlier that I just loved was a Sony cell phone and it was waterproof. The phone was waterproof. You could dump it in the water in a swimming pool and it would continue shooting. And I had actually filmed with it before in Spain underwater in the ocean and filmed fish swimming and everything and no problem.
So this trip though, I was in Tel Aviv  (text count limit)
