 V-고 있어요 : An expression used to state that the act mentioned in the preceding statement is continued.  ex) 집에 가고 있어요, 밥을 먹고 있어요.    /     V-(으)ㄹ 수 있어요/없어요 : An expression used to indicate that the act or state mentioned in the preceding statement is possible/impossible.  ex)  저는 한국어를 할 수 있어요 / 저는 수영을 할 수 없어요.

In this episode we are going to learn 【Chinese food】in Chinese.

As a beginner, there're some vocabularies that you didn't learn before, and native speaker's speed seems too fast to understand. But don't worry, let's do it step by step. 
1st time: listen and catch the words you know already, have a guess about the content.
2nd time: look at the text to check if you guessed it right. 
3rd time: listen one more time, repeat after it.
4th time: practice until you can speak as the normal speed without looking at the text.

你吃过中国菜吗？
nǐ chī guò zhōng guó cài ma ？
Have you ever eaten Chinese food?
中国菜有很多种。
zhōng guó cài yǒu hěn duō zhǒng 。
There are many kinds of Chinese food.
北京的烤鸭和四川的火锅都很有名。
běi jīng de kǎo yā hé sì chuān de huǒ guō dōu hěn yǒu míng 。
Beijing's roast duck and Sichuan's hot pot are both famous.
四川火锅很辣。
sì chuān huǒ guō hěn là 。
Sichuan hot pot is very spicy.
你能吃辣的吗？
nǐ néng chī là de ma ？
Can you eat spicy food?
你最喜欢的中国菜是什么？
nǐ zuì xǐ huān de zhōng guó cài shì shén me ？
What is your favorite Chinese food?
我最喜欢的是广州的早茶。
wǒ zuì xǐ huān de shì guǎng zhōu de zǎo chá 。
My favorite is the morning tea（Yum Cha） in Guangzhou.
早茶除了喝茶，还可以吃很多好吃的点心。
zǎo chá chú le hē chá ， hái kě yǐ chī hěn duō hǎo chī de diǎn xīn 。
In addition to drinking tea, you can also eat a lot of delicious dim sum.

Students regularly ask me, "How do I know what comes after a verb?" If a verb takes another verb as a complement, it is usually either a full infinitive or a gerund (e.g., "to do" or "doing").  Bare infinitives (e.g., "do") can only be complements for a small number of verbs, but these verbs are very common.  In this article, I take a look at some verbs that take bare infinitives as complements.
