A letra "L" terá som de "u" em dois casos.
Primeiro caso: sempre que estiver no final das palavras:
Exemplos: Brasil (som: Brasiu); jornal (jornau)

Segundo caso: sempre que estiver no final de uma sílaba e em seguida houver uma consoante:
Exemplos: calma divisão silábica: cal-ma (som: cauma) ; olfato (som: oufato); filme (fiume)
Esta segunda regra parece mais complicada, mas nao é. Considere que letra "L" seguida de consoante tem som de "u", esqueça a parte de divisão silábica se parecer mais fácil. :)

英文解释：The first day of the lunar new year, also known as the Spring Festival, one of the most important traditional festivals in China, during which people visit relatives, set off firecrackers, and celebrate the new year.

元宵节 (yuán xiāo jié)
中文解释：农历正月十五，是春节的最后一天，人们会吃元宵或汤圆、赏花灯、猜灯谜来庆祝。
英文解释：The fifteenth day of the lunar new year, marking the end of the Spring Festival, during which people eat glutinous rice balls (yuanxiao or tangyuan), enjoy lantern displays, and solve lantern riddles.
