and you are unhappy.
LAYLA: Do you really think so?
MONICA: I know so. And I’ve been listening to you complain for over a 
year now. Trust me. Take the job. What do you have to lose?



LANGUAGE NOTES
• In formal conversation, giving advice is often suggested through modals: ought to/ 
should / could / If I were you. In informal conversations people tend to use words such 
as I think that/ I feel that/ in my opinion.
• Listen for the emphasis on I know so and Trust me. These common phrases can be 
used to convey both positive and negative emotions. “I know so” conveys a deep belief 
or certainty. “To know” shows more certainty than “to think.”
• Notice the use of command forms: Take the job. /Trust me./ Go for it! The command 
form can be used to gently persuade someone

Man könnte das Interesse am SPENDEN von Lebensmitteln erhöhen, wenn man die HygieneVORSCHRIFTEN für diese Lebensmittel lockern würde. Man könnte Verbraucher informieren, dass viele Lebensmittel auch nach dem MINDESTHALTBARKEITSDATUM noch GENIESSBAR sind. Und schließlich gibt es Apps wie „Zu gut für die Tonne“. Sie informieren Menschen über Restaurants und Geschäfte, wo Lebensmittel billiger verkauft werden, damit sie nicht in der Mülltonne landen.

おはようございます！
Japanese daily life podcast のAtsushiです。
このPodcastは、日本語を勉強しているみなさんに向けたPodcastです。

今日も旅行の話をしようと思います。

大学を卒業する時に、友達と3人でアメリカへ行きました。
ロサンゼルスとラスベガスですね。

かなり前の話なので、思い出しながら話しますね。
あ、日本では、大学を卒業する時に、友達と卒業旅行に行く人が多いです。今もたぶんあると思いますが、日本では社会人になると、長い休みは取りにくいので、大学生のうちに2、3週間旅行に行く人が多いと思います。


僕たちは、3人ともバスケットボールが好きでした。なので、NBAですね、アメリカのバスケットボールを見に行こうとなり、友達がチケットなど全部用意してくれました。今思うと、全部任せてしまってたなと思います。

旅行では、サンタモニカの方へ行ったり、ビバリーヒルズや、ハリウッドの方にも行った記憶があります。

そして、NBAの試合を見に行きました。ロサンゼルスのステイプルズセンターですね。今はクリプトドットコム・アリーナ、という名前に変わったみたいです。

そこで、ロサンゼルスレイカーズとポートランドトレイルブレイザーズの試合を見ました。当時のレイカーズはとても魅力的なチームでした。コービーブライアントと、シャキールオニールがいたので、とても強かったですね。今思うと、めちゃくちゃ良い時に試合を見に行けたと思います。本当に迫力がありました。

リング裏、後ろの席だったんですけど、結構近い席で見れました。今思うと、当時20年ちょっと前ですが、僕の友達はどうやってあの席を取れたのか不思議ですね。

でも本当にいい思い出になりました。

と、もう1つ行った場所はラスベガス、そして、グランドキャニオン、なんですが、話が長くなりそうなので、これはまた次にしますね。
