Tous les animaux de la forêt ont l'habitude de se réunir pour fêter les rois. Cette année, c'est Kipic, le hérisson, qui achète la galette.
De sa vie, Kipic n'a jamais eu la fève. Alors il s'est arrangé avec le pâtissier qui en a placé vingt-cinq dans la galette. Le hérisson est certain, cette fois-ci, d'être le roi.
Le sanglier a fait les parts. Le lièvre était caché sous la table. Eh bien, c'est à peine croyable : la chèvre a eu cinq fèves, le lièvre trois, le sanglier six, le cerf quatre, l'ours deux, la souris cinq et Kipic... rien du tout. Quelle malchance !
