Partindo para Paris, passou pelos Pirineus, pois pretendia pintá-los. Pareciam plácidos, porém, pesarosos, percebeu penhascos pedregosos, preferindo pintá-los parcialmente, pois perigosas pedras pareciam precipitar-se principalmente pelo Pico, porque pastores passavam pelas picadas para pedirem pousada, provocando provavelmente pequenas perfurações, pois, pelo passo percorriam, permanentemente, possantes potrancas. Pisando Paris, pediu permissão para pintar palácios pomposos, procurando pontos pitorescos, pois, para pintar pobreza, precisaria percorrer pontos perigosos, pestilentos, perniciosos, preferindo Pedro Paulo precaver-se. Profundas privações passou Pedro Paulo. Pensava poder progredir pintando, porém, pretas previsões passavam pelo pensamento, provocando profundos pesares, principalmente por pretender partir prontamente para Portugal. Povo previdente! Pensava Pedro Paulo… Preciso partir para Portugal porque pedem para prestigiar patrícios, pintando principais portos portugueses. Passando pela principal praça parisiense, partindo para Portugal, pediu para pintar pequenos pássaros pretos. Pintou, prostrou perante políticos, populares, pobres, pedintes. Paris! Paris! Proferiu Pedro Paulo. -Parto, porém penso pintá-la permanentemente, pois pretendo progredir *não coube todo o texto, caso queria integrar, me mande uma mensagem que lhe passo!

Garrett Fisher is traveling the world in his little blue-white "Super Cub" airplane, as he tries to document every remaining glacier on Earth.

The 41-year-old Fisher does it for a simple reason: "Because I love them."

However, he does it for another purpose too — the climate is changing, and the planet's glaciers are melting. Fisher believes documenting, archiving, and remembering these changes is important.

According to Fisher, the melting glaciers are the first indication that we're losing something because of climate change. "In 100 or 200 years, most of them will be gone," he says.

That's why Fisher is building an archive of his glacier photos. He believes any record he makes before the glaciers melt could be very valuable to future generations.

In 2021, Fisher started the Global Glacier Initiative, an organization to support and show his work, and he plans to open his archive to the public for research.

Many glaciers are hard to get to or photograph — so Fisher has to make some dangerous journeys. Why does he do it?

He's looking for the perfect picture; one so beautiful it can make people and policymakers act. And if one image isn't enough, then maybe a whole archive will make people come and look, get close and pay attention.

"We can live without [glaciers]. We will live without them," Fisher says. "However, it hurts us to lose them."

Is college worth the time and money? Americans are increasingly skeptical about the value and cost, according to a new survey.

And most said they feel the US higher education system is moving in the "wrong direction."

Overall, only 36% of adults said they have a "great deal" or "quite a lot" of confidence in higher education, according to a report released by Gallup and the Lumina Foundation. That confidence level has declined steadily from 57% in 2015.

Some of the same opinions have been reflected in declining enrollment numbers as colleges contend with the effects of the student debt crisis, concerns about the high cost of tuition and political debates over how they teach about race and other topics.

"It's so expensive, and I don't think colleges are teaching people what they need to get a job," said Randy Hill, a 59-year-old driver from Connecticut.

He added: "You graduate out of college, you're up to [your] eyeballs in debt, you can't get a job, then you can't pay it off. What's the point?"

The June 2024 survey's overall finding — that 36% of adults feel strong confidence in higher education — is the same as the year before.

But what concerns researchers is that more Americans — 32% — said they have "very little" or no confidence in higher education.

Experts say that fewer college graduates could lead to labor shortages in fields from health care to information technology.

For those who choose not to go to college, it often means lower lifetime earnings — 75% less compared with those who get bachelor's degrees, according to Georgetown University's Center on Education and the Workforce. And during an economic downturn, those without degrees are more likely to lose jobs.

However, others still see the value in higher education. College student Kristen Freeman from California told The Associated Press: "I think higher education can give students the spark to want to change the system."
