์ ๋ง๋ค! ์ฐ์ฐ์ ๊น๋นกํ๋ค!
Oh, right! I forgot my umbrella!
์ ๋ง๋ค! ํธ๋ํฐ ์ถฉ์ ํด์ผ ๋ผ!
Oh, right! I should charge my phone!
์ ๋ง๋ค! ๋ญ์์?
What is โ์ ๋ง๋ค!โ in Korean?
โAh!" is an exclamation used when someone realizes something suddenly. Simple, right?
Then what about "๋ง๋ค"(matda)?
Actually, "๋ง๋ค" is a verb that means "to correspond or match with something else without conflicting in action, opinion, or situation."
In English, you could say "It's correct. Itโs right."
However, Korean people use the expression "๋ง๋ค" when suddenly remembering something.
If you realize something you forget and you remember it,
you can say "์, ๋ง๋ค!"
Donโt forget this!
์ ๋ง๋ค!
Here's a caution!
"๋ง๋ค" is not an adjective but a verb.
In the case of Korean verbs, '-๋๋ค' should be added instead of '-๋ค' to form "๋ง๋๋ค" (matneunda).
However, Koreans use "๋ง๋ค" more often.
It may be grammatically incorrect, but it's used this way most of the time.
