What does put in measure of something in this context mean? "I apologize for not coming earlier, but I assure you I've put in a great measure of thought to John problem" I found the meaning of put in place measures but I'm still don't understand. Is it the same meaning? Thank you

The word "measure" here means "amount." So "a great measure" means "much" or "a lot."

In this sense, it means "a great deal of thought". I.e., "I've thought a great deal about John's problem."
