As Chris said, there are plenty of teachers you can choose from. We're all going to have different strengths, so you might want to look for more than one teacher.
For example, it would be hard to find many teachers who know more about American history or the morphology of English words derived from Latin or Greek than me. My knowledge of the phonology of English and the major western Romance languages is also above average, but less so with the other Germanic languages or other language families.
I have a passing knowledge of British history, but obviously many British teachers would be better sources for that topic. Any qualified professional teacher should be able to help you with syntax.
