Is it ok to have two "in" (same preposition) so close in one sentence? Can you give me another example? Thank you so much!

From my understanding it appears that the term "in cracks" is used in a figurative way, as if to say "little by little", to emphasize a notion of progress. That would explain why the preposition "in" is so close to the other one.
But to be honest I've never seen that expression so a second opinion would be welcome, I hope that helped anyway :).
