Money is certainly a symbol, and conducts to a political and social reality. The dollar, in that way, represents the american dream, but also the american nightmare. Since George Duhamel, he appeared as the most explicit signal and the most efficient vector of the american hegemony. Here is, as the president De Gaulle’s minister of the Finances Giscard d’Estaing says « the exorbitant privilege » of the dollar : international money generated by the strongest nation-State of the world, and in the same time, international money accepted as payement method by everyone.
