Hello everyone,
should I say "there is lots of information" or "there are lots of information"?
Also do we say "there is a lot of..." or "there are a lot of..."?
Thanks a lot in advance.

This is a good question.
It depends on if something can be counted or not.
For example:
“There is a lot of water in the ocean.”
(In this case, you use the singular “is”, because the water in the ocean cannot be counted.”
Or
“There are a lot of pastries on the table.”
(In this case you use the plural “are” because pastries can be counted, and there are more than one here.)
Good luck!

Hi. You should say there is a lot of information.
To use are you would have to add another word to the sentence, for example
There are pieces of information that help us to understand.
There is a lot of information to help us understand.
They both give the same message in different ways.
