Hi, everyone
Let’s say you are talking to your wife/husband about parenting skills and she/he mentions something that a friend of both of yours (or you??) does that she/he thinks is good and you should do too, and she/he says:
“I think we should start doing that. Jane does.”
And then you replies “What, so we are doing it just because Jane does it? She is really your bar ? Come on, Jane is no model/standard/example of (for) good parenting”
My question is: could I use “model” or “standard” or “example” here? If not, what could I say? I want to say that “Jane is far from being the golden standard of good parenting.” What could I say after “no” in” Jane is no...”?
Thank you very much !

You can use all three, here are examples of all of them being used:
"Jane is not the prime example of parenting"
"Jane is far from the model parent"
"Jane's standards of parenting are not the best"
Also, if you are using the term "the golden standard" , it is usually "the gold standard" instead. So instead of "golden", you would use "gold"
