Hi everybody on italki!!
I was in the shop recently, I saw there an adorable cup with a cat.
But just curious, what does “붕어빵”means? (I hope I spelled it right🙏) Or is it just a proper noun?
Thanks beforehand!

You spelled it right, and it's an expression for a person or animal that looks almost exactly the same as another. You can say something like 쟤는 아버지하고 붕어빵이야 = That kid is a spitting image of his farther, for example.
붕어빵 's original literal meaning is 붕어 (carp, a fish species common in Korea) + 빵 (bread, cake, pastry), meaning a piece of pastry cake shaped like a carp (you see the fish in the picture).
So how did "carp cake" end up meaning a spitting image of someone? It is an interesting case of how certain common words are created.
붕어빵 is one of the common foodstuff street vendors sold to kids in the old days. You have a small wrought steal mold shaped like a fish and you pour in dough and sauce mix and heat it for ten seconds and voila!, you get a crude piece of cake in the shape of a fish. This was so common around schools and the process of making it was so quick and interesting (like a cookie cutter) that practically every kid growing up in the city ate it or at least knew about it, and 붕어빵 became a word practically every kid uses. Since each 붕어빵 came out looking exactly the same, the word took on the meaning of something resembling another very closely.
So the picture might be saying every cat looks like another or something similar.
