I think what the current social networks lack most is the capability of quickly responding(adapting) to new technology. They may need to invest more in development and algorithm updates. Because with the development of new technology, the media environment just becomes more complicated. Open AI just released SORA, (a text to video technology) which is empowered by AI technology. It can generate quality videos based on key words you give it. But it may cause a problem of messed up content pouring into social networks. People won't know which are real and which are fake, AI generated videos among millions of videos online. It also puts a lot pressure on video material censorship before these videos can go on air (go online).
