‘You are one to talk.’ Can anybody tell me about the meaning ?

We say this to a person who criticizes another person for some fault that actually the 1st person has also. I hope that wasn’t too confusing haha

We say “You’re one to talk” to bring to the person’s attention the hypocrisy of their words. In Canada we generally only say it as a confrontational expression.
