I came across an interesting article called "Electric Vehicles With Waiting Charging Time Free" and would like to share it here.
It takes about 5 minutes to fill up a conventional car with gas. On the flip side, it takes at least an hour to charge an electric vehicle[EV] even with rapid charging. This is one of downsides for EVs.
Honda has developed innovative concept models without waiting time to charge and reveal them in 2023. The vehicle is equipped with unique detachable battery system called "Mobile Power Pack[MPP]". MMP is the battery system which Honda has developed for electric mobilities and tools. One unit can store power of over 1.3kWh. The system allows cars to restart just by replacing empty batteries with new ones instead of bring cars to charging station when the battery charge is low. It has already been available in Honda's electric business motor bike called "BENLY e:" and "GYRO e". That's why they guarantee the reliability and the practicality. Honda plans to spread the system into commercial cars and expects that it is useful for delivery services and so on. Honda's concept vehicles called "MEV-VAN concept" are equipped with a maximum of 8 MPPs and a motor in the space which used to be occupied with a conventional engine. The cruising distance on 8 MPPs with full charging is about 75km and the max speed is 70km/h. The load capacity of this vehicle is 250kg. It has enough performance for short distance delivery service.
As of now, it seems like they don't have a plan to sell the vehicles. I'm very interested in this new charging method and want to keep an eye on the trends.

I came across an interesting article called âElectric Vehicles With No Waiting Time for Chargingâ and would like to share it here. It takes about five minutes to fill up a conventional car with gas. On the other hand, even with rapid charging, it takes at least an hour to charge an electric vehicle (EV). This is one of the downsides of EVs.
Honda has developed innovative concept models that eliminate charging wait times and revealed them in 2023. These vehicles are equipped with a unique detachable battery system called âMobile Power Pack (MPP).â MPP is a battery system that Honda has developed for electric mobility solutions and tools. Each unit can store over 1.3 kWh of power. The system allows cars to restart simply by replacing empty batteries with new ones, instead of taking the car to a charging station when the battery runs low.
This technology has already been implemented in Hondaâs electric business motorbikes, âBENLY e:â and âGYRO e,â proving its reliability and practicality. Honda plans to expand the system to commercial vehicles, expecting it to be particularly useful for delivery services and similar applications.
Hondaâs concept vehicles, called âMEV-VAN Concept,â are equipped with up to eight MPPs and a motor in the space traditionally occupied by a conventional engine. The cruising range on a full charge with eight MPPs is about 75 km, with a maximum speed of 70 km/h. The vehicle has a load capacity of 250 kg, making it well-suited for short-distance delivery services.
As of now, it seems there are no plans to sell these vehicles, but I find this new charging method fascinating and will continue to follow the trends.

7. âInstead of bring cars to charging stationâ â âInstead of taking the car to a charging stationâ: Correct verb form and article usage.
8. âHonda plans to spread the system into commercial carsâ â âHonda plans to expand the system to commercial vehiclesâ: More natural wording.
9. âHondaâs concept vehicles called âMEV-VAN conceptâ are equipped with a maximum of 8 MPPsâ â âHondaâs concept vehicles, called âMEV-VAN Concept,â are equipped with up to eight MPPsâ: Improved sentence structure and punctuation.
