Hi. That depends on whether what you are talking about is a countable or uncountable noun. We would say “There’s a lot of water on the floor” (water is uncountable) or “There are a lot of apples in the basket” (apples are countable). I hope that helps 😊

Both are correct, they mean the same thing except that one is singular and the other one is plural.
"There's" or "there is" is singular.
There are is plural.
Example:
-There is a car in the street.
-There are three cars in the street.
