HulpleerkrachtFun fact about the word “BOH”.
🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
I was talking to a Mexican friend of mine (we’ve known each other for months now) and we usually speak in a chaotic mix of Italian and Spanish. The other day he suddenly said:
“Omg I just discovered that boh means ‘I don’t know.’”
And I was like… que??? You’re telling me you’ve only just figured that out?
He then explained that every time I said boh, he thought I was just making random mouth noises… or that I was kind of burping mid-sentence…
For those of you who don’t know: “boh” is a very common informal Italian word that simply means: “I don’t know”, “No idea”, “Who knows?”
It’s short, expressive, and very Italian.
And apparently, if you don’t know what it means, it might just sound like mysterious Italian sound effects.
If you’d like to discover more little things like this, the real, spoken Italian that people actually use, come join one of my lessons. I promise I won’t just make random sounds at you 😁😁😁
