HulpleerkrachtDid you notice how drastically changes the meaning of the word sometimes depending on the stress in a word?
An example of that we've encountered with my student recently when we were reading a text.
The word in question - address.
Such a simple word, isn't it? Yet there is a mistery hidden there.
You see, when one has to write an "ADD-ress" on a letter, they have to add the country, name of the street, postal code etc.
However, when you "uh-DRESS", it's usually about an issue or you speak with the person.
Not only does the meaning change, but also the type of the word - the first one is a noun and the second one is a verb.
Which other examples of such words do you know?
Did you know the double meaning of the word 'Address'?
