It’s stormy today. While working on a reading section, I came across the story of Stephanie Kwolek, an inventor who created an amazing polymer called Kevlar. It’s lightweight yet as strong as steel! It’s known for its use in bulletproof vests, but what surprised me is that it’s also fire-resistant, which is why it’s used in firefighting equipment too. I’ve always associated chemistry with medicine, but this Kevlar thingy made me realize how impactful material science can be. What’s even more interesting is that Stephanie originally studied to become a pharmacologist—life doesn’t always go as planned, but sometimes it leads to something incredible. Who knows? Maybe one day I’ll create a groundbreaking material like that too!
