HulpleerkrachtI don’t think it should be one-sided like that. A happy relationship works when both people take care of each other and when there’s emotional safety. The best relationships I’ve seen are the ones where the partners are genuinely friends. They can talk about anything and just be themselves. Also, I personally feel that for a woman, having a man who is emotionally mature and dependable makes a huge difference. Someone who knows how to stay calm when she’s overwhelmed and who doesn't panic easily and when she’s freaking out and knows how to gently ground her is very important. That kind of emotional support goes a long way. And yeah, that is a form of keeping her happy but not in a superficial way. When she knows that even if something goes wrong, he’s going to step up and figure things out with her, that builds real emotional safety.
But it’s important to say this too: being dependable is not the same as being dominating. Thinking you’re always right or trying to control everything can damage even the best relationship. Real strength in a husband shows up in humility and in knowing when to lead and when to simply be there.
