I love a car and I would like to think that I have tried to take a good care of my beloved car. I came across an interesting article online about an essential maintenance for car's long-use and would like to share it here.
It is said that the best timing to exchange a car is from 7 to 9 years on average in the case of what you bought it as a brand new one. That's because some of their parts will be discontinued in the future and some related taxes will increase in Japan if you have had it for over 13 years. However, you generally can use it over 20 years depending on your maintenance. In other word, your poor-maintenance-conscious might deteriorate your beloved car quickly. So, the article said essential maintenances are as follows
1) The exchange of oils on a regular basis, such as an engine oil and an engine coolant water called "Long Life Coolant".
2) The exchange of consumables on a regular basis, such as tires, air elements, brake pads, batteries and so on.
3) The exchange of rubber boots such as suspension dust boots, dry shaft boots and so on.
4) The exchange of suspension related parts such as dampers, mounts arms and so on.
5) The exchange of brake related parts such as brake pads, disc rotors and so on.
Probably, I'm not going to have my beloved car over 20 years, but I think making a point of good maintenance is better safe than sorry. So, I'll follow the instruction above in the future.

I do love cars and I would like to think that I have tried to take a good care of my own beloved car. I came across an interesting article online about essential maintenance for a car's long-use and would like to share it here.

I love cars, and I like to think that I have taken good care of my beloved car. I came across an interesting article online about essential maintenance for a carâs long-term use and would like to share it here.
According to the article, the best time to replace a car is between 7 and 9 years on average if you bought it brand new. This is because some parts may be discontinued in the future, and in Japan, certain related taxes increase if you keep a car for over 13 years. However, with proper maintenance, a car can generally last over 20 years. In other words, poor maintenance habits can cause your beloved car to deteriorate quickly.
The article outlined essential maintenance steps as follows:
1. Regular oil changes, such as engine oil and engine coolant, also known as âLong Life Coolant.â
2. Regular replacement of consumable parts, such as tires, air filters, brake pads, and batteries.
3. Replacement of rubber boots, such as suspension dust boots and drive shaft boots.
4. Replacement of suspension-related parts, such as dampers, mounts, and arms.
5. Replacement of brake-related parts, such as brake pads and disc rotors.
I probably wonât keep my car for over 20 years, but I believe that prioritizing proper maintenance is better safe than sorry. So, Iâll make sure to follow these guidelines in the future.
1. âI love a carâ â âI love carsâ
⢠âI love a carâ sounds unnatural. If youâre talking about cars in general, use âI love cars.â If referring to a specific car, say, âI love my car.â
2. âI would like to think that I have tried to take a good careâ â âI like to think that I have taken good careâ
⢠âTried to take a good careâ is awkward. âTaken good careâ is the correct phrase.
3. âAn essential maintenanceâ â âEssential maintenanceâ
⢠âMaintenanceâ is uncountable, so âanâ is unnecessary.
4. âFor carâs long-useâ â âFor a carâs long-term useâ
⢠âLong-useâ is incorrect; âlong-term useâ is the right phrase.
5. âThe best timing to exchange a carâ â âThe best time to replace a carâ
⢠âTimingâ is usually used for events, and âexchangeâ is incorrect here. âReplaceâ is the appropriate word.
6. âIn the case of what you bought it as a brand new oneâ â âIf you bought it brand newâ
⢠The original phrasing is unnatural; âif you bought it brand newâ is more natural.
7. âDepending on your maintenanceâ â âWith proper maintenanceâ
⢠âDepending on your maintenanceâ is awkward; âwith proper maintenanceâ sounds more natural.
8. âIn other wordâ â âIn other wordsâ
⢠The correct phrase is âIn other wordsâ (plural).
9. âYour poor-maintenance-consciousâ â âPoor maintenance habitsâ
⢠âPoor-maintenance-consciousâ is incorrect English. âPoor maintenance habitsâ is the correct way to express this idea.
10. âEssential maintenances are as followsâ â âThe article outlined essential maintenance steps as followsâ
⢠âMaintenanceâ is uncountable, so âmaintenancesâ is incorrect.
11. Rewriting the maintenance list for clarity and correctness
⢠âThe exchange of oils on a regular basisâ â âRegular oil changesâ
⢠âSuch as an engine oil and an engine coolant waterâ â âSuch as engine oil and engine coolantâ
⢠âExchange of consumablesâ â âRegular replacement of consumable partsâ
⢠âAir elementsâ â âAir filtersâ (more natural term)
12. âMaking a point of good maintenance is better saf
