It's sunny today. Last night, while reading with my dad, I accidentally confused the word “excretory” (as in “excretory system”) with “executive” (as in “executive brunch”). My dad, ever the well-meaning educator, took it to heart. Today, while I was out, he decided to help me learn the difference. He wrote the words “excretory” and “excrement” in phonetic symbols on a sticker and stuck it to my bed as a “thoughtful” educational gesture. Bless his heart, he meant well! But tonight, I’m plotting my revenge. When he’s not looking, I’m going to engrave “excrement” and “excretion” onto the grips of his beloved game station controllers—or maybe a permanent marker will do the trick. Either way, he won’t notice until it’s too late!
