Hello everyone!
Could you help me with a question about Egyptian Arabic? You have the word اخوات . It differs from MSA because it can be translated either "brothers" or "sisters". But how can you identify in a sentence that a person speaks about brothers not sisters? For example, how to say the following sentence in Egyptian Arabic?
I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

The word اخوات
It means the sisters and brothers, its equal siblings in English

Sorry I typed it incorrect - it should be:
عندي ثلاثة أخّ وثلاثة أُخْوات
3 november 2024
I was taught that أخّ is for brothers and أُخْت is for sisters
so I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters is:
عندي ثلاثة أخّة وثلاثة أُخْت
