HulpleerkrachtHello everyone. Let's learn English through history!
British history is full of famous battles and kings — but sometimes the strangest stories are the most surprising.
In 1814, London accidentally had a beer flood.
At a brewery near Tottenham Court Road, a huge beer tank broke. The force caused other tanks to break too, sending a wave of beer through the nearby streets.
Buildings were damaged, cellars filled with beer, and sadly several people died. Even more surprisingly, the brewery wasn’t blamed because it was ruled to be an accident.
It sounds made up, but it really happened!
British history has some truly strange moments, but why do so many of these moments involve beer? what’s the most unusual historical story you know from your own country?
