Dear Sir/Madam I'm writing with regard to the decision to tear down St. Joseph Cathedral (Tianjin). I saw it from our local newspaper Holiday 100. I wish to inform you about this decision and its many negative effects. First, there are a lot of people who attend mass here each week. The church must be saved for the landscape and for their faith. If they don't see anymore this church they are not the same people. Second, it have a rich history. People don't want to see the historic building razed. If we keep it, we can hold weddings or other events. For example, open classes to teach children morals. We can ask for donation or open church shop to raise money for repairs. If it is possible, I would like to ask that you keep the bell tower. Thank you very much for taking time to read my letter. Looking forward to your reply. Yours faithfully, Xin

Dear Sir/Madam I'm writing with regard to the decision to tear down (tear down suggests it is a bit uncontrolled. Other than demolish you can use knock down or pull down) St. Joseph's Cathedral (Tianjin). I saw it in k there are a lot of people who attend mass hiere each week. The church must be saved for (landscape refers to the countryside rather than a city, you mention people in the first sentence so this isn't relevant) their faith. If they can't visit this church anymore they won't be the same people. Second, it has a rich history. People don't want to see historic buildings razed (razed means burnt down, not an appropriate word). If we keep it, we can hold weddings or other events. For example, free classes to teach children morals. We can ask for donations or open a church shop to raise money for repairs. If it is possible, I would like to ask that you keep the bell tower. (This sentence isn't relevant here, it is a reason why it shouldn't be knocked down) Thank you very much for taking time to read my letter. Looking forward to your reply. Yours faithfully, Xin
There are some good ideas but it loses a little bit of logic.

Write a letter to a city planning manager about the demolition of a historical building in your area. In your letter, you should: • explain why it shouldn’t be demolished. • suggest a future use for this building. • recommend a way to raise money for repairs.
