When people talk about the song 'Jingle Bells' they are usually thinking of bells on a sleigh, but in real life they are not always interchangeable.
'Jingle' is a type of noise which can be made by bells. Other things that make a jingling noise include coins in your pocket or keys on a keyring. But if you think about it bells can also make other noises that are different to a jingle. The bells in a church, don't jingle. So, it depends upon the type of bell. Some ring. Some chime. Some clang.
