You can spend more time in front of computers for learning is very surprising. Here I say about "learning". Because when sitting at a computer, I was distracted by many things (facebook, news, chat, friends, games, etc). So I can not study effectively while sitting in front of computers.

But in general, for any reason to spend more time in front of the computer is not good.

I think a person can stay in front of the computer a long time, I spend 60 hours or more in most weeks for various purposes and so far I've been fine :) It can be a bit distracting while studying though, but so are phones...
