Perle
Pronunciation, word stress, sentence stress...

Hi everybody!

 

My name's Perle,I finished intensive English lessons two months ago and I got the B2 CEFR. But I'm really confused with the pronunciation. I want to improve the fluency therefore I must work on the pronunciation, word stress and sentence stress. I find the stress thing really hard (nighmare springs to mindi , what about you? Could my native language (French) partially explain the dificulties?

I would say that you are correct — the fact your native language is French completely explains your difficulties with phonemic syllable stress, which is completely lacking in the French language. That doesn't mean that you cannot master it — you simply need to do a lot of listening practice and keep imitating what you hear.
