Best Chinese textbook for beginners?

Hello everyone!
I would like to start learning Chinese but I'm not quite sure which textbook I should use. I started learning Japanese with Minna no Nihongo and I really enjoyed it because rather than give a bunch of sentence to memorize, it helped me to actually understand the very basics of the language and gave me the opportunity to build further knowledge. It also doesn't have any romaji or english in the main textbook, so I learned how to read much more quickly.

Does a similar textbook exist for Chinese? Do you have any suggestion?

I recently recieved "The New Practical Chinese Reader" books 1 and 2 . These seemed to be recommended and i have even noticed that some of the teachers on here use the book .

Hello! :)

It all really depends on your learning style, but the book I would suggest is:

Integrated Chinese (Simplified version) Level 1, Book 1. The third edition by Cheng & Tsui.

I used that textbook when I was taking Mandarin classes and I felt like it was pretty helpful.

New Practical Chinese Textbook is used widely. There is a textbook named Discover China, recommended by our professor. Maybe you could try.
