It is resembling "make do"?

Is this sentence ok with this term?

I wish that can be done better, whereas it is still against my better judgement?

It means that you are doing something that you might not think is the best decision. So you are doing something that is against your better judegment. For example: "I lent him the money against my better judgement", that is to say, you lent someone money although you might not get them back, so you acted against your rationalty telling you that it might be a bad idea.

John always says he knows a shortcut. I've learned that it's always a mistake to take them. It is bad judgement to agree to let him give driving directions. It's better judgement to say politely that you will use the simple route that you already know. Last week I was driving a group of people to a concert. He said he knew a shortcut that would cut eight miles off the distance. The idea of saving eight miles was appealing. Against my better judgement, I agreed. I followed his directions. We came to a bridge with a big sign, "BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION. ROAD CLOSED. SEEK ALTERNATE ROUTE." John just said "That's funny, that bridge was open last year."

Bad judgement: take John's shortcuts.

Better judgement: politely decline to use his shortcuts.

I went against my better judgement when I agreed to follow his driving directions.

Against one's better judgment / Against my better judgment

If something is against your better judgment it is:

- contrary to what you believe is a wise, smart, sensible or correct thing to do
- something/an action/a decision that would be wiser not to do or make.

e.g.,

"I always lock the door when I go out. Yesterday, I forgot to lock my aparmtent door when I left to go to work. I knew I should go home and lock the door (my better judgment told me it was the right thing to do), but I did not go home to lock the door (my poor judgment). When I got home from work, someone had entered my apartment and stolen my computer and sterio system. I should have followed my better judgment."

e.g., Against my better judgment, I gave my lazy brother a job in my company (wrong judgment/decision). One month later, he quit because he could not do the work. I knew he could not do the work when I hired him. I did not follow my better judgment (my better judgment = do not hire him, but I did not follow my better judgment).

"Against smb's better judgement" means doing something against smb's will or beliefs.

For example: I decided to make a tatto against my parents' better judgement"
