why do chinese always say "drink more water"?

In China ,when you catch a cold ,a chinese will tell you :drink more water.

when you feel so cold ,a chinese will tell you :drink more water.

when you are hot ,a chinese will tell you :drink more water.

when you see a doctor ,the chinese doctor will tell you :drink more water.

you can hear this sentence everywhere even you are drunk.

what does it mean ?if you want to know ,i can explain it to you .if you have known the answer ,we can talk about it .

Sudeep is right.

On the other hand, this is the easiest way to show people that you care about them.

Bcz in China, most people do not drink enough water which make them sick.

At first, " drink more water" does help and people may feel you do care about them.

But  now, some people use "drink more water " at every situations.

So, if you tell a girl "drink more water" when you r chasing her. It will piss her off and maybe she will tell you back off. :)

haha, i experienced that a lot, When I was a kid, I didn't like drink my water, and if i got sick, My grandma always said that : Look what happen, you did not drink your water, then you get illness. Maybe it is  just a common sense for us, that drink more water can detox, lose weight and cure anything, which also is an excuse to ask your children drink more water, which they should.

Nothing more than a comfort to make you "feel" better. But it does not do harm to your health at all, so take it.
