Violin Onomatopoeia - Describe the violins sound in one word! It is for my student =)

In Australia we don't really have a violin sound, we just say any similar sound and pretend to play the violin with our hands

"Knee-knee" [ni:] [ni:]
(because it sounds like the word "knee" said in high pitched voice, with a long vowel "ee") :)

In Turkish it is " gıy gıy "
Because it sounds like that :)
Onomatopiea's are rare in other languages i wonder what it is in English :)
Japanese must have one too.
