I've noticed that people that have never lived in Russia bearly know any Russian films despite there being many. This should be of no surprise simply because they don't need them (it's a very bad excuce though), but even people who are interested in them still don't see the real variety of films that Russian cinematography has to offer. I've tried searching 'Russian films' or 'Best Russian films' and the search results mostly consist of the classics which isn't allways the best film for everyone. So if you have a problem with finding good Russian films (TV shows, cartoons ect) here is some variety (well... 1 of each type). (PS these are only the top films that I personaly think should be here so if you know more, be sure to write them in the comments)

1. The Less Popular Classics (<1999)

'Гостья из будущего'

2. Modern Films ( > 2000)

'Остров' (2006)

'Ледокол' (2016)

'Викинг' (2017)

Comedies:

'Ёлки' (1,2,3,5) (a new year comedy)

'День Выборов' (1,2)

3. TV Shows.

'Кухня'

a lot of this tipe of shows are on the СТС channel in Russia

4. Cartoons (mostly classics)

'Незнайка на луне' (Neznayka na lune)

These films aren't the best (exept a few maby), but this is just something to start on.
