Could I just mention the grammar?
A brick WEIGHS (weighS not weigh) IT weighs...
How much DOES it weigh? Is the question form.
And the convention is that we use a dot/point NOT a comma. 1.5. One point 5
For example: 1,350, 250.25. One million, three hundred thousand, two hundred and fifty point two five.
As for the maths, I'll leave it to the others!

@Dan, is it really the question?:) It seems much like a riddle to me! By the way, let me try whatever that is coming to my mind right now. If I omit the "and-a-half" from a-hen, an-egg and, a-day then the question will be like- "If a hen lays an egg in a day, how many eggs can six hen lay in six days?" Then the answer will be pretty easy i.e. 36.
