About the different time in some countries and daylight saving time . Hello guys .  How do you feel about the different time system in some big countries , like in America , Canada and Australia? For example , New York time, Texas time and California time are all different .If you  often travel from east to west in USA ,what do you feel about that? Actually once I traveled in America , I could not get used to often changing back and forward the clock .  In China, we have the same time from east to west , and we all have get used to it . But just the people in the east need to go to work at 8 or 8:30 am and the people in the west maybe go to work at 9:30 or 10:30 am . Another question . How do you think about daylight saving time ? In your country ,do you have daylight saving time ?Some students often make mistakes  to  book classes with me at the time when just daylight saving starts or stops . In China we used to use daylight saving for a few years , but now it have been stopped . I think it is good to stop using daylight saving . Please tell me what do you think about the 2 questions ! Thanks .

Human beings are highly adaptable creatures, so it all depends on what you’re used to.

Taiwan doesn’t observe daylight saving time because we’re close to the equator so sunrise and sunset time doesn’t differ that much year round.  But maybe daylight saving time makes sense for people further from the equator.

I think if China follows international standard, it would have 5 time zones, so I think having only one time zone makes life a little awkward for people in certain parts of the country.  For some parts of Xinjiang, the westernmost region of China, the sun rises after 10 AM in the winter and sets after 10 PM in the summer; which is fine I guess if you’re used to it.  Scandinavian countries deal with worse, although it's because they have no alternatives.  I read that some people in Xinjiang choose to follow their own local time instead of Beijing time because it’s more in tune with nature.

I think all things considered, it’s better to have multiple time zones if a country is spread across wide longitudes.  Most people don’t travel across time zones enough for it to be a hassle, and you know to adjust for it when you call someone in another time zone.

When I was a kid, I was confused by the time used in national TV commercials in the US.  Like what does 9/8c mean?  Now I know that it means if you’re in the Central Time zone, the show starts at 8, and if you’re in the Eastern, Mountain, or Pacific Time zone, the show starts at 9.

In my country, we don't save daylight, most people have lights in their houses:) All right, joke apart, I think this daylight saving thing create more confusion than any profit because I have asked this question to some people and most of them were unable to answer the exact reason behind such alteration! Some say it's to stop the accident, saving energy etc. but how these things are related to the daylight saving time might be answered by people who are experiencing this changes! So, if anyone knows the exact reason, please mention in your comment:)

Daylight Saving Time is rather unhandy sometimes. If you're traveling you just have to be aware of it. I've ran an hour ahead or behind a few times when I forgot to take it into account. I live in Indiana. We have two time zones within the state.
